Morrish JCB

Morrish Builders have been established in Poole for over fifty years and is now run by Joint Managing Directors, Steven Morrish (Administration) and David Morrish (Construction).

With a successful and consistent record of residential and commercial projects in Poole, Bournemouth, West Dorset, Devon and South Somerset over many years, Morrish Builders are now one of the larger regional developers in the South West.

Our highly experienced in-house team includes Planning and Design, Engineering, Building and Construction, Health & Safety, Marketing and Land and Customer Service Managers. We also have a Sales Consultant all with support staff. On-site Managers are entrusted to run their developments efficiently and effectively and with due regard to health and safety legislation and with the consideration of Local Residents in mind.

Morrish Builders have built on a large and small scale and worked with noted local and internationally known Architects on various projects, especially since the Heritage Homes concept was researched and established in the early 1990s.

This division of the Company was set up to specifically build in environmentally sensitive town and village locations where traditions and the vernacular needed to be respected and enhanced.

Since then, Heritage Homes by Morrish Builders have been completed in Yetminster and Thornford near Sherborne, Stoborough Meadow - Wareham, Winterbourne Whitechurch, Lytchett Matravers, Upwey - Weymouth, Drimpton, near Crewkerne and Stratton, Dorchester.

About twelve years ago Morrish Builders were invited by the Duchy of Cornwall to be one of the lead contractors on the ‘Poundbury’ development, including houses, apartments, shops and commercial premises. Since then, as one of the two lead contractors, a great many homes, shops, business premises and the Poundbury Pub - The Poet Laureate - have been completed.

Morrish Builders will continue to build high quality and innovative homes in its home and surrounding counties.

Local contractors

With the depth of Morrish Builders history in Dorset, we have always been keen to support the local community.

Our workforce, sub-contractors and specialist services are almost entirely locally based and wherever possible we use local suppliers, and specialised craftdmen thereby providing maximum support to the area's economy. Morrish Builders have also supported local schools and other youth organisations in a variety of practical ways.

Conservation

Morrish Builders actively pursues a conservation policy. We own and operate a 400 acre forestry holding in a Site of Special Scientific Interest on the Arne Peninsula near Wareham.

Wildlife flourishes and in addition to the forestry operations, where we work closely in conjunction with English Nature and the RSPB to preserve the environment, flora, fauna and beauty of the area. A recent land acquisition at Holton Point, Holton Heath, Poole included another area of valuable land fronting the shoreline of Poole Harbour. This will also be carefully managed and conserved for future generations. At Projecte Taronja, in Valencia, Spain areas of river bank and adjacent land have been acquired to create valuable and sensitive ares of conservation land to ensure a safe haven for birds and wildlife.
